    My strategy is:

    1) Rimfire, rifle or pistol
    2) Centerfire handgun up to 45 caliber
    3) Centerfire rifle up to 30 caliber

      You CAN use a centerfire 223 can on a 22 rimfire.

      it would be pretty large on a handgun, if that means a traditional handgun versus a 10 inch handgun with a "brace".

      I think buying two dedicated cans is cheaper than buying on of the convertibles.

      Well one is still cheaper than two. There's also the added cost of a tax stamp and separate waiting period.

      I don't know I've seen some as low as 295. most of the convertibles seem to be a thousand or more.
