Wow - one of the best ever Rush drummer Neil Peart dead at 67: 'Rest in peace brother'
RIP Neal. Definitely one of the best. :drummerboy:
RIP sad day great drummer. Saw them live twice. Great shows.
Saw them at the Lakeland civic center in the early 80's twice. Great show. RIP brother Neil.
One of the best and most influential. Rush was one of my first favorite bands in ‘75. Saw them in concert a few years ago. Sad day. Wore the grooves off of Fly By Night. One of my all time favorite albums.
NP was widely recognized as one of the all-time greats, and I’ve always had him at #1 (followed by Bonham, Copeland, and Carter Beauford). Quite an interesting dude, and his talent was just sick. Crazy entertaining.
Ugh, sad to hear. He's wasn't one of the best... he was THE BEST. Period. RIP, Mr. Peart and may your Spirit of Radio live on!
Absolute legend. So sad.
Very good article Remembering Rush Drummer Neil Peart: Rock's Greatest Drummer (and Randian) | National Review
Just read this in the news after coming home from seeing "1917". Fking sucks. I love Rush and that guy is the master. RIP Professor.
RUSH has always been at the top of my playlist and Peart was not only the best drummer, but his lyrics were awesome as well. Im not an emotional guy especially for famous people I dont know, but I would be lying if I didnt say that I had a few tears in my eyes when I heard the news. Obviously the 2112 in Gatormac2112 is referring to them, they’ve been a big presence in my musical life. RIP Neil
Just heard Spirit of Radio and gotta say that song literally (not figuratively) gave me goose bumps. It has the rythm and energy that just screams, "this is the MOST FUN song we play!" The musicianship individually and collectively is just amazing. Definitely the top echelon of musicians and NP was a huge part of it.
