The only team Nembhard can be useful for next year is UF. At that, he may be challenged by a freshman.

The NBA draft is NOT about next year.

Nembhard testing the waters was completely predictable.

To the NBA their draft choices are precisely about next year.
NBA doesn't make long-term investments in penny stocks - not a developmental league.
Now Nembhard may using this ploy to learn something, no expectations to be an NBA rookie.

I hope he understands that he has no chance at this time of being in the NBA, if it is just to get input on his weakness that would be fine. Otherwise delusional.

Lots of good comments here and no one should be surprised as the NBA drafts on potential. Yes as mentioned he can't shoot a lick, he is a step slow, etc., but I happen to think that he has a chance to be a good NBA player in the future, regardless of when he leaves. The NBA has become a stand around and dribble game by many teams. Well Nembhard happens to be a very good passer and a very willing passer. Add some movement in an offense with his willingness to pass the ball and he can have a good NBA career. Under Mike, it was just stand 40 feet from the basket and dribble for 20+ seconds and then hope something happened. There was no movement off the ball fro him to find a teammate. I think he returns, but he has to have the ball a lot with motion to allow him to be his best.

You know this is changing, right? One and done is going away. NBA scouts are being allowed to watch 16-17 yr olds.

I would say there's a more than 90% chance he will be back. He is great at handling the ball and passing but needs to improve his shot and quickness.

Didn't know that, but glad to hear. Those youngsters are under the scope because they are phenoms moreso than Nembhard is. They display as good passers + good scorers. Nembhart's scoring is substandard compared to theirs.
IDK whether uneducated kids playing millionaires' game hurts them or society at all.? You know, youth is when dreams peak; why shouldn't they jump at that chance.?

He is in no way ready for the NBA. He has to get stronger and work on his shot. His stats aren't that bad averaging 8 points a game and 5.3 assists a game. He shot 41% from the field and 35% from 3. He's a big time assist guy and obviously has the clutch gene when he hit the big 3 pointer drawn up by White to beat a top 10 team in LSU. "He also had a 21-point outing at Alabama with a 9-for-9 performance from the floor, becoming the first SEC player in 20 years to have a perfect day from the field with at least nine attempts in conference play." - excerpt from this article - Nembhard to Enter NBA Draft, Will Retain Eligibility - Florida Gators

I don't know if he is even listed on any draft boards at all so we will see what happens.

Good teams do not often start rookies. And rookies for bad teams are an investment in the future.

Wouldn’t be so sure he’ll come back, NBA is full of guys who can’t shoot, he may think it’s better to develop in the minors then stick around here.
