The changes in the recruiting industry-generated 247Sports Composite for the 2018 class following the latest updates begin with a new addition to the overall top 10.
Houston (Texas) Lamar cornerback Anthony Cook moved up seven spots to No. 9 overall. The U.S. Army All-American is now the industry’s top prospect in the state of Texas and nation’s No. 2-ranked cornerback prospect. Current 247Sports Crystal Ball predictions for Cook include LSU (40 percent), Texas (30 percent) and Ohio State (20 percent).
The top prospect in Alabama moved up nine spots to No. 22 overall and added a fifth star. Phenix City (Ala.) Central wide receiver Justyn Ross now ranks as the nation’s No. 4 wide receiver prospect and recently mentioned Alabama, Auburn, Florida and Florida State as his favorites. The in-state Tigers have the early lead on the Crystal Ball.
