Yes, and in doing so he earned some respect. He's also never been pushed into everyone's faces by the media like his brother. He's also proved he can actually excel under pressure, and actually earned two Super Bowls (Manning was awful during his only Super Bowl win and didn't earn it). Only a fool would take Peyton over Eli in a playoff game.

Also unlike his brother, Eli doesn't seem to crave the limelight and take every possible endorsement deal that comes down the line. Peyton will take money from anyone, anywhere, no matter how bad the product, and then be shown in every possible commercial break.
