Hill, Hayes, Robinson and Barry all looked good. Overall we played really well when we played with intensity and got up & down the court.
We played really well with 16 minutes to go and down by 5, outscoring them 35 to 9. We're deep and we're going to outlast and overpower a lot of these 'lesser' teams. We just need to start with the intensity displayed later in this game, and do it on a consistent basis if we want to hang with the big boys, who are comnig up very soon.

Yup I agree. We've certainly got the pieces.

Need to come out with intensity, defend and shoot the 3 better and we will be dangerous.

Only 7 turnovers for the whole team the entire game. That's usually a good first half for Kasey Hill.

Did Gak get in ? Seems the runaway part could have initiated him foe 2-3 minutes' play time?
Although this wasn't really a creampuff opponent.

Gak is not listed in the box score. Given that he wasn't even supposed to be there, he probably had fun just being dressed and on the bench cheering on his mates, which is probably for the best for now. We play Mercer in the same place on Sunday - they're another quality mid-major, but if we can break away earlier in the game, I would expect to see Gak, and more of Stone. Appears White is easing Stone into the rotation. Baby steps, I guess.

Yes, he played the last 3 min of the game. We turned it over 2 or 3 times during this stretch with all the backups in. He didn't really get to touch the ball, but he was tall, could run, and looks like a real shot blocker

Quick Recap:

The team started off well offensively, driving to the basket and Robinson hitting the 2 3pters he would take for the game. After FGCU tightened up defensively we only had a handful of open 3pters the rest of the way and Leon hit 2 of them. Everyone else went 0for. The offense was off an on in the first half, mainly scoring inside through Egbunu or drives by the guards. The defense however was probably the absolute worst in the last 10 years. FGCU had their players doing whatever and whenever they wanted. Driving by our defenders or hitting open 3pters. It was for the most part a total lack of energy and effort. We were playing off the ball handler and just looked like we moved in slow motion and uninterested.

That all changed in the second half. After another terrible 4 min stretch to start the team finally stepped on the gas both on offense and defense. We controlled the pace by running when we got the chance and contesting shots on defense. It was the type of play that makes you think we have a real chance this year. Kasey Hill and Chiozza both played great in the 2nd half, setting up the offense especially on the fast break. On defense the interior stepped it up with a bunch of blocked shots and deflections. It was a great performance in the 2nd half.
