If Dan Mullen cant beat Ogre's scout team, what makes you think he can beat Saban's?

Everyone knows that wasn't Mullen's fault.

when searching for a shoe throw gif it hit me like a ton of bricks that the marco wilson shoe throw gif potential wasn't fully realized.

pretty sure if coach ever drank Kraken...he'd die immediately. no way in hell those wine coolers he used to drink has prepared him for the Kraken
he claims he has. no **** that stuff is the devil. buyer beware.

I guess because it's rum you don't expect it to be potent.

it's really economical., if you just remember to cut your shots in half when mixing. which seems like being a pussy, and usually I cannot do.

that's really too bad because we don't have much run defense without him. Good thing it's just bama.

I struggle to think of any one player we could less afford to lose due to lack of depth at the position. obviously AR would be more important if we had a coach that played him. but that's about it.

Now comes the price to pay for recruiting nothing but microdefensive ends/ blitz rush specialists and safeties to play linebacker.

And the price of hiring your buddy the Graduate Assistant instead of a real linebacker coach.

I feel like Hopper SHOULD be the backup middle linebacker. He is the only real linebacker in the group... but of course he hasn't been on the field because we're still trying to convert safeties instead.

The Diabate and Moon **** show will be interesting. No offense to those guys they're both talented, and it wouldn't surprise me if they have careers in the NFL as outside linebackers. we just don't play it outside linebackers.

Alabama's guards are going to be eating them like snack cakes.

let the excuses begin.

I think winning this game will make a lot of people happy, but that happiness will dissipate if we don't have a championship at season's end.

A win would help ease concerns about Mullen... but if doesn't translate to an SEC Championship, what has he really gained. The staff is four years in, and other than being a little more consistent than the last two jabronies we haven't shown to be anything else. Which is more damaging than the last two jabronies combined. Because management was forced to make a change due to the straight schit on the field in year 3/4. But like Richt (yes he had more success early) people will say he is one assistant away, one good break away, and we will toll along being a 2-4 loss team for years.

This isn't a championship team, or even half of one. but if we manage to win two decent games a year instead of just one it might change the flavor a little. 2-2 still isnt great but beats 1-3 or 0-4.

it's honestly the best you can ever expect while we are cowbelling w Mullen. he will just never be a champion even once, much less consistently.

I come from along line of hard drinkers............why I do not imbibe in such a manner but its my dna to handle strong spirits. My fathers side loved whiskey and my moms side could make all kinds of liquid courage. Dad said my grandmother (his mother in law) made the best home brew he ever drank.

i would say, if by some miracle of epic proportion, we came away with a win in this game, mullen would just piss it all away within 2 to 3 weeks with loss(es) to some bum-azz school we are much better talent wise anyway.

this is dan mullen in a nutshell. even if he manages to pull out a big win, he squanders the opportunity that came from it.

Oh I fully agree Mullen would piss it away by losing to Missouri or something, but boy would I enjoy the win anyway. I'd be dancing.

I agree. And my point, which I think you also agree with, is that big wins like this don't matter if there's no championships to follow. They just keep coaches with empty trophy cases around longer.

Now for a rebuilding program like Arkansas, it's different. Big wins like this build momentum to continue the rebuild and improvement. Since this is your four, we shouldn't still be in rebuild mode; however, if we win this game and get a top five recruiting class due to the positive momentum, then I will feel a slightly better about this program's direction even if we don't win the SEC this year.

All of that said, I have as much confidence in Mullen as you do, and I'm not holding my breath. Last year's team, should have been very special, and he blew it. So far, there's no evidence that he's learned from any of his mistakes.

I think our best realistic chance to win on Saturday is if Bama has to forfeit due to covid.
As long it's a bona-fide forfeit and not a match vs their scout team I'd say we have a chance.
