We've got coaches out there saying they'd prefer not to play in the championship game.

I will acknowledge that Saturday didn’t look like a meaningless regular season. So the playoff, as much as I’m not a fan, hasn’t diminished that to the extent I thought we’d see. But to your point, they do need to consider modifying some of the terms to make conference championships meaningful. Maybe something where your seeding is bumped or something. Because I agree. It’s almost beneficial to sit it out right now.

As currently designed the conference championship 1) assures a spot at the dance 2) provide a bye for the four top conference champions. Maybe something simple where if you qualify for your conference championship and lose you cannot be bumped by another in conference team. Championships need to be meaningful.

When the fuchs was there ever a "meaningless" regular season? The beauty of college football is that every game counted. That is what all the cuuunts worried about. Poor Tennnessee couldnt beat UF in September so Payton Fuchsing Forehead didnt get a championship. If you lost probably no NC chance for you.

Now we have teams with a loss each month thinking that their 9-3 records deserve the right to get embarrassed one more time in January.

And I don’t like that aspect. I’m just saying that there was some concern that it wouldn’t matter if you lost. We just watched Ole Miss and Alabama most likely lose their shot at the playoff. So it’s different, and not my preference, but I think with the SEC at least, there’s going to be so much grind that every year you’ll have teams with multiple losses, meaning that an upset in November could still be the death sentence that it used to be.

Well, I guess it might matter if you lose three times, but it doesnt seem to matter if you lose twice.

Wow! So now the teams that can't win in Sept or October get a chance to play the teams they can't beat in Sept or October in the playoffs too? Sounds great.
Donkey is stubborn? Who knew? So the fact that almost everyone expected to compete for the championship has 2-3 losses kind of kills your theory. pOSU and Oregon and Texas are the clear favorites but there’s a pretty long list of other teams that will be competitive if they even get in. Wasting a spot on Boise kind of sucks, but tossing the minor league a spot doesn’t hurt since there’s still 11 spots. Admit it or not, it makes the last 3rd of the season a lot more interesting to most fans. Maybe not us because the playoffs are pretty much a No Retard Zone.

Totally agree with this. Contrary to a lot of the usual cry babies about NIL and Conference expansion, this season has been really fun to watch. I normally dont watch a lot of other conference games but I have this season and its because of the changes made. I am a fan of it and want more. NIL has allowed the talent to start to spread and the playoff expansion has made this season exciting.

Donkey's job is to relentlessly sh!t on EVERYTHING. He hates it all. I wonder if he's really like this in real life or it's more of an internet persona.

The conference championship should factor into playoffs tbh.

I think their lack of running game hurt more than anything and produced much pressure. They were reduced to using a WR Micah Davis as their main ball carrier and the next dude was a defensive tackle.

But talent and depth matters. We beat Ole Miss because we had enough depth to overcome injuries even as we lost to other teams because we did not have enough depth.
It’s a reoccurring theme in Laney teams. Somewhere there is a glaring weakness. Typically it’s a poor d. last season they had a great back but couldn’t stretch the field vertically and Dart
Was inconsistent. This year they have stud receivers and no backs worth a squat . It’s a mediocre offense without stud tre Harris .

There is a reason that teams with #12 talent and 40 bluechippers should beat a team with #20 and 20. If we lose four defensive backs, we're still putting out quality guys on the field even though they're not our number one and they're not particularly experienced. When he loses 4 RBs and an all-sec WR, he is running tight ends as slot receivers and handing off to a backup WR and a DT.

You have to recruit better if you want to win in the SEC. The only thing that Billy Retard had right was saying it is a talent acquisition business. He still has half the tell of his great friend Kirby Shart though.
