It's like watching a horse with two broken legs hobble its way down the track...hours after the race ended. The other horses are long unsaddled, the jockeys are back home in sweatpants, and the crowd, 8 mint juleps deep, is stumbling through the parking lot looking for their Uber. The poor thing, its fate inevitable, is still out there, struggling to cross the finish line, while the grounds crew is literally mowing the field around it.

At some point, someone needs to step in and do the humane thing and end the suffering of all involved.

I’m already really not really wanting to go to this game and get home so late after either an ultra embarrassing loss, or kick the can type win. But now I just found out it’s the annual Tom Petty day game. And I’ll probably be solo because no one in my family wants to watch this disaster anymore. Terrible.

One of my lifelong best friends is a long time FSU fan. For several years we have treated the other to a game. We have obviously been to the annual UF/ FSU scrum at both the Swamp and Doak. I have treated him to UF vs LSU/ UT and more, He has treated me to FSU vs Clemson( the crab leg game), ND and last year LSU in O-town. Today we admitted neither of us care anymore so we will focus on going to Dreadnaught games throughout the season. They hate their dilemma as much as we do ours. He has cancelled his season tickets as have I.

It's sad we have really enjoyed some great times.

I was thinking more about spring and fall camp where I'd think you'd put the 1s against each other some.

But this does make me wonder what we did for the scout teams previous to the rule change on countable coaches. Did the coordinators coach both the scout teams and the 1s, or did we have position coaches or grad assistants doing it?

I dont really know. I suspect it was the GAs of which we had two. Likely the offensive coordinator was looking at the other team's defense and the scout team defensive GA would view those notes and setup the plays for the defensive scout team to run against the our offense.

These staffer positions are critical. Id be surprised if our quality there is any better than the staff we see on Saturday.

What I admire about Napier is his focused, devoted, and undaunted pursuit of mediocrity.
