I was coming in here to say that it'll be South Carolina and it won't be close...until I read this. Could be a really interesting game if he can't go. Having said that, I think it's typical Spurrier talk.williston_gator;n32531 said:Already game time drama.
Per Rotoworld:
South Carolina junior RB Mike Davis is questionable for the team's season opener against Texas A&M.
The running back is dealing with a rib injury, but it does not appear to be serious. "Mike Davis has been hurt; he hasn't practiced all week," head coach Steve Spurrier said. "I don't know if he'd even be able to start or not." Rotoworld contributor Cian Fahey recently detailed Davis' game and believes he "will be at his best running behind zone-blocking schemes that let him focus on making one cut before accelerating into space." Davis missed one game last season due to injury.

Decent and Mike Davis are two different things. Their next highest running back has 256 yards last year.URGatorBait;n32535 said:I thought they had another decent back behind him.
Perhaps I heard he was better than decent. I wouldn't base a players abilities on their previous years production, without putting it in context. If we did, then we should expect virtually nothing from our WR's this year.GatorInKnox said:Decent and Mike Davis are two different things. I agree completely. I just think if you lose a guy like Mike Davis there will be a significant drop off. Not necessarily because the backup will get his carries, but because the third string RB will get the backups.GatorInKnox said:Decent and Mike Davis are two different things. And dont forget the mighty Gators.AlexDaGator said:#MeToo. I think the early line was nuts though. Nobody has blown Miami out, their 2 losses were very close, and they've beaten some very good teams (aTm, Notre Dame) and Ole Miss was nearly a Miami blow out. They don't have a good defense, they have an elite defense and it's a home game for them. Kinda remind me of our 2006 defense, minus the Eraser in the backfield. If Miami can run the ball behind that big OL, this will be a close game (like the Indiana-Penn State game). Of course I hope whatever sorcery Cignetti uses gives us an utter domination and humiliation of the 'Canes.
