Other than Pitts, would anybody on Trask’s O start on Mac Jones’ O?

Other than Kyle Pitts, is there any starter on Kyle Trask’s Offense who would start on Mac Jones’ Offense???

I’m looking for a position by position comparison, like Pierce v Najee Harris, Forsythe v Alex Leatherwood, Grimes v DeVonta Smith, etc.

Our offense is really good this year, but I can’t think of a single position where we have a significant talent advantage over ‘Bama except for Pitts at TE.

I don’t know if that helps or hurts the Trask for Heisman campaign, but it makes me value what Trask is doing over what Jones is doing.

Alex.

No. Pitts is the only one. A few would play, none would start, and a lot would never have been offered. It is what it is unfortunately.

Well we do have one player that would start for Bama on offense. How about on defense? This is a bad Bama defense by their "standards", yet we do not have one player who could start for them. Maybe Cox would make their 2 deep.

Probably not, but I'm proud of our players for working hard and getting there. Somebody's got to start challenging them some in this conference. I hope it's us and it should be. Friggin UGA does less with more and schits the bed when they get the chance. I'm going to try and stay positive that a bigger spotlight will help attract better talent.

Grimes and Toney are the only two that would sniff the 2-deep on that offense (other than Pitts and Trask).

So all you guys are conceding that Jones is better than Trask? I'll take Trask and Pitts and Bama can have anyone else they want. We win.

Toney, especially now that Waddle's out, because he's finally figured out how to translate his ellusiveness as a runner into sick route running skills making him deadly as a slot receiver. There is not a team in the country that doesn't want some of that especially on third downs including those that play on Sunday.

Good thread, Alex. It underscores the advantage Bama has coming in. It’s almost discouraging to compare the teams position by position. Bama is Bama. They recruit the cream of the crop. They hold a decisive advantage on paper.

Euro makes a good point. With Waddle out, it makes the Bama receiving corps less lethal from a speed standpoint. Regardless, Sarkisian will take what the defense gives, and our defense gives lots of choices. I worry more about stopping the Bama run. We lack size and physicality, just the kind of opponent Bama, with that huge offensive line, can exploit to no end.

We’ll need turnovers, big plays and a big night from Trask, which won’t happen unless the OL allows him time to get set in the pocket. Pitts will have an extra someone on him because he’s that dangerous. Can Bama shut down all 6-feet-6 of him? It’s why we play the game.
