There's a story out today about how Pete Rose is charging people to go to his funeral. You can also get a signed prayer card for $75 and can walk up to the casket for $50. Charlie Hustle even in death. Respect.

“Crotch Grabbers”???

That’s a new one on me.

Never been referred to as a “crotch grabber” before.

Curious, is this meant in a personal way like I’m grabbing my own crotch (and if so, to what end? make sure it’s still there? scratching an itch?) or is it meant in the Trumpian way, like I’m grabbing someone else’s crotch (and if so, to what end? copping a feel? exerting dominance?)???

I’m pretty sure it’s meant as an insult, I’m just trying to figure out what kind of an insult this is and I don’t want to try urban dictionary.

Consistency was always his greatest attribute.

That's what your mom said about me, except the company part. I don't watch baseball and respect players like Pete because they were all such nice guys. I am sure there are tons of guys in the baseball HOF that are not the greatest of folks.

Just because you masturbated to your poster of that bowl cut wearing, child molesting, gambling drug addict, doesn’t change anything I said. He was a prick and NO ONE will miss him due to that.

I noticed you left off booze nose. That was probably my second biggest takeaway from our random encounter at Caesar’s.

I also left off tax evasion. I just felt like it was enough already.

I masturbated to a few posters for sure, but none of Pete Rose.

I guess now, we need a character test for all our so called sport "heroes".
Some are good guys, some are arrogant, some are azz holes some are degenerates.
But...but...he kicked a dog once!
He refused an autograph!!
Tax evasion???? Seriously... Who the hell loves paying taxes?
At that level, You better have a damned good accountant.... you can trust.
He bet on Baseball!! :lol2:

I was a fan of Pete for the way he played baseball.
I loved his hustle, Love for Cincinnati and the way he played the game.
He played for 18 years and still had the same batting average (within a few points) he did as a rookie, throughout his entire 18 years.
Remarkable athletic longevity.

I love cocky, arrogant *******s in sport because for the most part, they're winners.
Pretty much the same way I loved Dale Earnhardt, cocky, arrogant...winner.

To a lot of people, Spurrier is a cocky arrogant azzhole. Also, a winner.
People hate Urbs.....

Everyone should play the game they play, every day at every level, with the hustle, inspiration and never say die attitude Pete did , every time he stepped on the field.

Not sure what to make of the time he separated the catcher’s shoulder during the All Star Game.

Some say: that’s hustle. Others say: what an @sshole.

This ended the catcher's career.
Personally, I could care less if Rose ever gets into the HOF. He was a great hitter and has a record that may never be broken. But he was a smug A-Hole that only cared about himself.

I’m no Pete Rose fan, and I think it was ridiculous to have a collision at the plate in an all-star game, but it’s not fair to say it ended Fosse’s career. He played several more seasons, including winning a pair of rings with the A’s, and remained a top flight catcher who was highly respected by the pitchers he caught. He also had several more injuries, totally unrelated to the shoulder injury Rose caused, but it is fair to say he was never the same hitter again. He had 16 HRs heading into that all-star break, but finished the season with only 18. He never hit more than 12 in any season after.
