    Fun and interesting party question, for if and when we're ever allowed to have parties again. :rolleyes:

    If a genie gave you the choice to wake up tomorrow with one of two amazing abilities, which one would you choose?

    To be fluent in virtually any and all languages so you can talk to anyone in the world, or to be able to pick up virtually any and all musical instruments and play any song beautifully, by ear?

      The question is difficult. If I'm practical, I choose the language gift.

      However, the musical gift would be my preference. To play the guitar like Eddie, the drums like Neil, etc, would be amazing.

            I understood your reply. I also happen to speak about as much Russian as I speak Spanish. (Very little)

            I'd still like to know what @Treebeard meant about playing any instrument covering both, because I said you could play any song, not sing it.

            My approach is, which one of these two magical abilities facilitates the enjoyment of more poon? IMO there's no question there, it's playing any instrument.

            In fact, I'd probably stay exclusively in foreign countries where I did not speak the language, so I could make the ladies swoon with my melodies and wouldn't have to talk to them.

            Not to mention, if you can play any instrument, you can even entertain yourself when you're alone. Who wants to sit around talking to themself in Chittagonian when you can be happily driving your neighbors nuts with flawless renditions of the opening guitar riff from Stairway to Heaven all day?

                Does everyone understand the abilities are to speak any AND EVERY language you want, or to be able to play any and every instrument? Not that you can pick one extra language or one instrument. You can speak or play them all!

                Maybe I wasn't clear. Or maybe I was, and you're knuckleheads. Probably some combination of the two.

                I'll change the title from any to every for clarity.

                  There may soon be. May want to start on Mandarin with Rosetta Stone.

                  To the question, I’d take the musical route. Would particularly love to be able to play all the stringed instruments. Sitting down and playing alongside Mike Campbell would be memorable to say the least.
