Alabama Suspends 3; Clemson Players Fail Drug Test

Alabama suspended the starting left guard Deonte Brown and two other players from the Orange Bowl for violating unspecified team rules, and Clemson Coach Dabo Swinney said the star defensive tackle Dexter Lawrence and two other players had failed N.C.A.A. tests for performance-enhancing drugs and might not play in the Cotton Bowl.

Not a good sign for those teams but probably not enough to affect the outcomes of the games. A PED test failure is rare in college football because they usually know when the tests are going to be supposedly and don't get tested for them much.

These "team" players probably didn't care because getting ready for the combine is much more important than any stupid national championship.

For some I would guess and they were cycling them to pass the NFL's test probably if they test for them prior to the draft.

I hadn't heard about these new SARMS supplements that get around the current law until seeing this and that stuff on the MMA guy testing positive and UFC moving the fight because Vegas would not sanction it due to the positive test. Sounds like Dana White is full of it with his excuse and that 2nd way of testing only goes back like 60 days contrary to his BS about it still being there over a year later.

Yeah. I read that but I am pretty sure that those B samples will show the same thing. It's an automatic 1 yr suspension. And you can't even practice with the team, right?

The tide story: the three suspensions: one starter with turf toe who despite being a force on the offensive line was probably not going to play anyway, a receiver who has not caught a pass all year in five appearances and a sub who hasn't played. Not like the kittens players who at least played and one was their
DL
stud game changer . One appears to be all show; the other is a major blow.

Crete told me that Treon framed them.

 I was curious so I went and looked at these PEDs they got nailed for and the one place was actually using Grier's 40 pound weight gain to push that the stuff works. It sounds like since they shut down the pro-hormones from years ago being sold legally they are selling this new stuff as only for research only or some mess to get around the law as currently written with how the stuff works.
--------------------------------
Descriptions and Benefits

LGD-4033, also known Ligandrol, is a SARM that has been shown to have positive effects on muscle building, body recomposition, sex drive, and bone density. Already in human trials, Ligandrol has been shown to be highly selective for muscle and bone cells, largely ignoring prostate or sebaceous cells. This makes the side effects for LGD-4033 minimal.

Florida Gators quarterback Will Grier allegedly used Ligandrol to add 43 pounds of muscle in one year.

Concentration

10mg/ml.

Half Life

24 – 36 hours.

Side Effects

Although few side effects have been shown, Ligandrol is more suppressive of endogenous testosterone and sex hormone-binding globulin than other SARMs, making a full post-cycle therapy necessary. Ligandrol has not shown effects on luteinizing hormone, follicle stimulating hormone, or estradiol.

Keep in mind that's just Grier's spin. The University never commented at all on what he was what he tested positive for, which is the proper response.

If there is more fire to the smoke, then it will leak during the NFL combine investigations.

The clemson folks are thought to be almost nothing in the amount detected, they hope the B tests will be clear. Nobody has admitted taking anything with the clemson issue, unlike our past QB.

Almost nothing - I know they have cutoff levels but its usually the real deal that produces those metabolites. Maybe the NCAA can make the next test clean as to not interfere with the college playoff since the guy is leaving soon anyway.

The Alabama players violated some NCAA rule and may be done at Alabama (the OL is a starter...but the other two could just be clearing roster spots):

Nick Saban announces trio of Alabama players suspended due to NCAA violations

The way Nick Saban framed it on Thursday, there’s a chance his three suspended Crimson Tide players may never again suit up for Alabama.

If you missed the news on Christmas Eve, sophomore offensive guard — and current starter — Deonte Brown, redshirt junior offensive lineman Elliot Baker and sophomore tight end Kedrick James are all suspended for the Orange Bowl. None of the players made the trip with their team to Miami.

During his latest media availability, Saban announced those suspensions came as a result of NCAA violations.

“These are NCAA violations, with those things come certain – consequences. Those players knew the situation. They made poor choices and decisions,” Saban said. “We will support the players in every way that we can. They will not be available to play for the rest of this season and maybe beyond.”

Based on that response, those players time as members of the Alabama football program may be over.

Now will the NCAA look further into why all their big recruits magically get fancy new rides when they sign with Bama.

So, will all zero interest loans and cash advances be returnable for failing their contract?

@Brett_McMurphy: Clemson DT Dexter Lawrence won’t play in @CFBPlayoff semifinal vs. Notre Dame after NCAA said Lawrence’s “B” sample tested positive. Also “B” samples of TE Braden Galloway & OL Zach Giella were positive. Clemson could appeal NCAA’s ruling
