Before I was married, I'd go to once or twice a year with most games being away. Then while married, every other year, and since having kids just once (Tenn game last year). We live over 760 miles away, and my kids are still young, so traveling isn't easy and they struggle sitting in the stands for several hours. I'm hoping to go to the Ole Miss game next year.

Edit: I wrote this forgetting the question was specifically about home games.

I get down to Gainesville once a year. Usually a game we are heavily favored to win.

I've had an "inside" source for the Cocktail party since 1991. I went several times in the 80's but every year from 1991 to 2021.
I was involved in an "incident" in 2021 and decided it best to let that one go.

Didn't get to go to any games this year though. Had a little run of bad luck.

Yeah, I don’t do the cocktail party any more. From ‘87-2012 I only missed two of them(‘92 and ‘97). Catching the tail end of the 80s made me hate them with everything I have, so it’s not an easy one for me to see us lose. My seats for the 2019 game were right at the end zone walk, and during halftime, I told one of the heavyset female uga tuba player that she looked “awful fat in those pants”. It was then that I realized this game may just not be healthy for me anymore.

Wished I’d have just stopped after the 2014 game so I could’ve gone out with a win. It’s also a bear to get there and back from Gainesville. Coming up from WP and staying just south of Jax and taking a bus in was so much better. But really, it’s the pants thing more than anything else.

I hear ya. The 80's were awful for us. Yes, I hate those bastards, and always will.

Once, I got called out by a Gator fan..." What Kind of sportsman are you??"
This after I booed the Ga band as they were walking off the field, before the game.
"I was like, Lady, That's Georgia!"

I've had countless run ins over the years. Had Gator fans yell at my 15 year old daughter, at the time, to sit down, they were tired of looking at her cellulite in her shorts. Mind you, she still weighs about 105 lbs and works out every single day. My God, There I go, up in the stands!

Had one of those Ga dudes that wear those red wool coats, sitting behind me the year Tebow broke the all time TD record in the series. He got real mouthy and, so did I. He finally took his girl and left the stands.

The kicker though, I was sitting in the top row, just below the club suites. Ga fan in one of the suites, leaned out of the suite, hit me from behind, broke my sunglasses into my face. I went completely nuts, tried to climb in the suite, got a hold of the dude, had him about half way out of the suite when the cops rolled up.
Luckily, I didn't get kicked out be he did. Turns out the owner of the suite was a Gator.

Needless to say, the wife and family were completely embarrassed and well, that was the end of that!
No more cocktail parties!

Sounds like a prudent decision on your part, if not your wife's!

I’m currently a season ticket holder, but shouldn’t be.

I went to all the home games and many of the away games before I got married in 1999.

Then went to most of the home games with my 2 daughters.

My oldest is now a sophomore at Samford.

My youngest is currently in the study abroad program in London, for a public Florida school that doesn’t want to be in the ACC any more, and is playing turrible this year.

My youngest, a huge Gator fan, who got accepted to every university she applied to, except for one. UTk, Clemson, Auburn, fsu…

She never had anything less than an “A” in school, ever. She has 30 college credits as an incoming freshman, and will have her AA by Spring, she was president of her High School chorus department, and was the lead in her high school play. She sang the solo at her graduation ceremony (a graduation class of close to 900). She volunteered and had a job. Her seemingly downfall for UF? She only scored in the mid 1300’s on her SAT.

She even strongly considered going to Santa Fe and transferring to UF next year, but was told there was no guarantee she would get in then. She more than likely would, but no guarantee.

It’s a no brainer between in state and out of state tuition.

Long story short, I’ve been a season ticket holder for more than 30 years. I went to 1 game this year (Samford).

I may get season tix for 1 more year because fsu plays in Gainesville next year, but I really shouldn’t get them.

Sounds like a fairly calm outing.

Very hard to attend when the product on the field isn't great and I have young kids so easier to stay at home with them and have a watch party with family

Used to go when I could while moving around in the Army and always thought I would go a lot once I retired but now I really prefer watching it on TV. Im not one to scream and yell and stand the whole time so would rather let those that like that do.

I go every year at least once. Harder and harder to go as I age, it can be miserable seating wise on those old benches. You have your knees in someone’s back, while the people above you have their knees in your back. Hope they have chair backs in every seat after renovating, might make me feel like a real adult, & not a Sardine.

The last game I saw about 2 yrs ago there were old people up near the top that had to be 80s. I was amazed at their stamina.

I read the poll wrong and answered for all Gator games, not just home games. I go to at least 1 Gator game per year, this year being at Texas. I only get around the Swamp once every few years.

I will forgive you this one time for such an outrageous mistake.

I have a checkered past when it comes to attending Gator football games. In what seemed like my million years as a student I went to only a few games. When I finally convinced my wife to marry me we went to almost every home game unless we just couldn't get there because we were in DC, Chicago, the Keys, or Australia. Ellen had one requirement. Before the game we had to eat at Stake and Shake. I can't tell you how many kick offs we missed because of that ritual. I knew better than to bitch too much or I would pay dearly after we got home.

Then my son started there and on that very day the head ball coach left. Damn. But we kept going religiously through the Zook and Meyer years. Unfortunately that was followed by the triple M coaches where interest waned. The last game I attended was years ago. I probably won't attend another.
