Some more stuff:

Although defensive line coach Chris Rumph was not pleased with how his young group started practice, McElwain liked what he saw from former 5-star defensive end Antonneous Clayton.

“I am really glad I wasn’t the open end tackle trying to protect against the guy,” McElwain said. “In some of the drills we had to pull the reigns (on Clayton) a little bit. The guy just loves football. You can tell when he gets out there. He has a great personality.”

Spurrier clearly sees that Del Rio is ahead of Appleby and stated it (Mac prolly wished he didn't) - Mac wants the two to push each other to be better and therefore will not concede the starting position to DR until game week, hence keeping Appleby motivated to tray and take it.

this is the same as last year. anyone who watched the first game last season knew immediately when Grier took the field he was head & shoulders above Harris, & I'm not just talk'n stature.
