Nissan got a little too cute with its exterior designs over the past decade or so. Their cars have all the character of a Hard Rock casino.
You mean a little too French aka fvkked up. Renault is the worst thing to happen to them.

Japanese overdone is what I mean. All these dramatic exaggerated angles that just clutter and cheapen the look. Lexus is guilty of the same.

Did Renault buy them?

Now that you’ve mentioned it, I can see a little of what you mean. I didn’t remember the concept version of this Renault (the RS 01) as being as busy. Turns out it was.

From the side, it’s pretty hot.

Yes and no. It is an "alliance". Renault had more money, somehow.

So, when you look at these piece of schiff you dont see Renault?

Or those early Armadas with a round front roof and flat square back half?

I like the MX5’s too. Had a 2007. We put 38k miles on it and a new top but the thing was a gem. Sold it last February fir $12k. They are getting very popular.

I probably have. There are so many goofy e-car designs out now, they all kind of blend in.

Edit: Not saying that’s electric, but it carries the look.

Poor Ox. You know how much he hates convo deviation. His head is probably exploding from all the zigs and zags here.

I meant to post this earlier. 911s are just a step up the evolutionary ladder from the Bug. You can rebuild one for a lot less than you think. I’d take one over a Boxster all day long.

Exactly zero. ;) If I were going to do anything, I'd put a Whipple on my Raptor, but I got no support I'd trust anywhere near here that I know of. :(
Installing the Whipple and loading the base Whipple tune is something any shop that has a dyno can do. From there you can data log onto your laptop and send it to Palm Beach Dyno or Lund Racing and they will e mail you back the revisions for you to download from your laptop back into your PCM....Ken at PBD and John Lund know FMC programing better that Ford themselves and their tunes often drive better stock despite the vehicle having 250-300 more HP and ftlbs of torque.

We're really only down to 3 realistic options:

1. Miata 1990-97
2. Audi TT 1999-04
3. MB SLK 230 1998-01

It must have a manual transmission. There are pros and cons to all 3.

Pure value get the Miata. You can beat it to death and fix it cheap.

Not true. The prices soured me on Boxsters. The only one I could find in my price range had frame damage. Well, two if you count the one sitting in the cornfield in North Carolina you pressured me to purchase, sight-unseen.

Hey, we just started looking. By the time we find one, they’ll be priced under a thousand.

Crete, sober up. I've been looking for less than 2 weeks, and half of that I've been in bed with the flu. The fact is, pickings are quite slim out there at the moment. When I find a car I'd like to go look at, it's either a) sold, b) my inquiry is never responded to, or c) the guy tells me he's decided to take it off the market.

I contacted a dealer via text today about a local car and I couldn't believe how rude he was - he basically said, "that's the price, buy it or don't". My response was, "Wow, you really know how to sell a car!"

The dude probably fielded 15 calls over the previous hour from young males kicking the tires on the idea of owning a Porsche on the cheap. I find you have to be really patient and perseverant when you shop a specialized market. To those who are come the goods.
