Too soon? haha...
nope. Not after all that they did.

I've been to the Nuclear Museum in Los Alamos, NM.
They have it divided in half...
The right hand side is the 'origin story' and the left hand side is what the Lab works on today.
Incredibly interesting history of how the Lab got started and why Oppenheimer chose that area.
It also has pictures of all of the people who worked on the project and what they looked like today (or before they passed on), with a bio of each.
The original town that they built is gone, but the main guard shack and security gate was preserved.
Real estate prices are thru the roof and it's hard to get something decent within the city limits.
Aside from the Lab, ain't much really there, but it's a beautiful drive up from Santa Fe.

Yep, LA has the highest per capita rate of PhDs in the nation. Average income is 60K with median household income of 120K. This in a state that majors in being 49th or 50th in every meaningful human capital statistic. Median home price is 320K. Talk about stratified population. If you don't have Masters don't bother to apply for the janitors job at LANL, which pays 100K a year.

A customer of mine moved there from Arkansas to work for the Lab.
He came from the private sector and this was his first foray into the Federal world.
At lunch one day he said that he and his wife are having to rent a house at an exorbitant price, the government moves at a snail's pace, and they both want to move to rural Oregon. So much for the LA experiment.
