At least in terms of short term success, Mullen has to be at the top. Fisher did well, but considering the amount of talent and depth he inherited, mullen ran rings around him.

Mullen is the clear No. 1. Heupel at 2, Fisher at 3?

Edit: I'm almost as happy with Taggart's hire as I am with Mullen's, but that's a different kind of ranking.

This is pretty easy at the top.

1. Mullen - The numbers show incredible gains. Still a long way to go but the progress is undeniable and will be complete if he closes the 2019 class with 2-3 elite players at DB & DL.

The rest I’m not so sure of my order, but...
2. Jimbo - have to give him his due. He made them interesting & had a very solid year.

3. Cristobal - 9-4 and a bowl win, huge upgrade over Taggart.

4. Huepel - Yes, it’s a lower level conference but to stay undefeated and beat ACC division champs Pitt was pretty good. And he beat the crap out of Kiffin who did NOT have a good year. Now maybe the media will ignore him.

Somewhere down the line...Frost rebounded from an historically lousy start to post some much needed wins and scare OSU. I think he will make a good effort.

Waaay down the line - Taggart. Oh yay. Just yay. I wish him the longest tenure possible at F$U.

DEAD LAST - Kelly. Awful coaching. Worse recruiting. Huge mistake I’m glad UF didn’t make.

disagree about heupel. He's done nothing, just inherited a program frost built and didn't tank it against junior varsity competition. Color me unimpressed.

No question. Same here. I put him 2nd because he kept them undefeated until the bowl, and the rest of them seemed to suck more.

Now that you made me think about it a little more, though, I'm putting Jimbo at No. 2. He played Clemson to within 2 points, and beat the team that UCF lost to in it's bowl game.

One guy for me who moved up a bit (not top 5 or anything) is Herm Edwards. I thought it was a terrible hire, but he did fairly well going 7-5 in the regular season with all 5 losses by a touchdown or less, & a victory over Arizona. No idea if he’ll ever do better, but a decent first season and, for now, probably better than the 13th best hire.
