I am a Viet Nam war veteran, I was drafted at the age of 20. It never occurred to me to try to get out of serving my country. If I had I would have been a disgrace to my family, my home town, and to my two uncles who died in combat during WWII. My home town has a population of 990 people. During WWII 26 sons of this little community gave their lives that this country may enjoy the freedom it has today. Do I want a draft dodger to be the Commander in Chief of the brave men serving in the military? Hell no! Now I know that I am going to get a lot of blow back about this post, that I am a liberal pussy, but I have no respect for men like Trump, who have received all the benefits of this wonderful and free country, but were unwilling to put their life on line for it. When I mustered out of the Army, we were told not to wear our uniforms traveling home because of all the anti-war protests going on in the country and there could be some danger to our safety. I wore my uniform proudly on the train home and when I arrived home was received with love and respect by my family and the people of my hometown. Oh, just as a footnote, during the Second World War, a mother in this small community was voted war mother of the year and received recognition from the President because she had 11 sons serving in the armed forces, three of which never returned home. For the record, I didn't vote for Obama either.
