I used it many time in reference to Illeya. Arab/terrorist..... black/thug ..... gay/perv ..... immigrant/criminal ..... it fits the narrative the for the current regime. At least you got the bolded parts right although I believe you were taking swings for Illhan Omar. Odd you left out the normal vituperative charged invective when descibing the current "regime". By the way, it is important to know who the bad guys are.

But he had a lot of very conservative views. He was a tea party guy and they were almost like Libertarian in some things.
Comservative and Republican are two drastically different things. George Bush, John McCain, Nelson Rockefeller and every other Big Bizness guy is a Republican. Ronald Reagan and Tea Partiers are conservative, though Reagan was a pragmatic get-what-he-can-get kind of conservative. Donald Trump never attended conservative C-Pac even as a candidate. He is a moderate Democrat, mostly. He has appointed some conservatives, but for instance his trade policies are straight old school Democrat.

Loooong ago, long before AOC, long before Bernie thought of running for president, I wrote: Republicans are Democrats and Democrats are Socialists. Look around. All the Democratic candidates for President are Bernie clones except for Biden and he's not that far away. They are waaaay left of where Obama was when he ran. Simply consider that they all endorsed AOC's "green new deal". They're running on socialized medicine and free college. Calling yourself a socialist is now cool. Meanwhile, Republicans are not cutting spending at all. All the fiscal conservatism of the Obama years is gone. They had every opportunity to build the wall and chose not to. To me conservatism means small government with a focus on individual liberty and personal responsibility. I am bemused by the abortion debate filling my social media feed with demands for "agency" over themselves. Well...what about the agency to choose to send my kid to this school instead of that school? How about the agency to pay my cousin or my neighbor to cut my hair or fix my AC, and their agency to do those things in exchange for money without the government's permission? Consider the agency to defend myself, my family, and my home with a reasonably suitable and effective firearm. Government doesn't give me the right to agency over myself. God did that. We used to understand that point. "We hold these truths to be self-evident, that all men are created equal, that they are endowed by their creator with certain unalienable rights, that among these are life, liberty, and the pursuit of happiness." Those jerks in DC, do you think they want LESS power for themselves and more power for you and me? Regardless whether there is a D or an R after their name, they all want to do MORE, not LESS. That's why we say Republicans aren't really conservative. Democrats are in bed with trial lawyers, Republicans are in bed with insurance companies. Democrats are in bed with Big Unions, Republicans are in bed with Big Agriculture. Both sides use the power of government to "help" their favored causes. Real conservatives don't do that. Real conservatives want to reduce the power of government. So I'll rephrase. Republicans are Democrats and Democrats are Socialists...and real Conservatives in DC are Unicorns. Alex.
Funny how much you adore a "moderate democrat". Trump really has no ideology. I think the populist streak is real. He has just jumped on the conservative train because they tend to be more obedient and fawning.
While there is much truth in the above winding rant, can we just give up on arguing who is "conservative" and who isn't? The definition has become so fluid and so much in the eye of the beholder that it's usefulness as a descriptor is almost nil.
