RIP daytonacane - the only Miami fan I ever liked

damn... that is sad. she was a bright spot and really a sweet lady.

I do recall not long after her joining the board that Swonk piled on ... she stood her ground and certainly didn't have a glass jaw.
Some of the posters didn't realize at first that she was a she and in her 80's
Hope she's hanging out with her husband now and they're enjoying the view.

I generally dislike any rival fans and at first treated daytona no differently than normal, which is to say with disdain. However, she took the ribbing like a champ and was the most respectful rival fan I've ever interacted with online. Despite her allegiances, she was a welcomed part of the family here. RIP to probably the only good Canes fan in the world.

Okay, I've started a Memorial Forum. After the threads have run their course here, they will get moved there. People will still be able to post to them there.

I've got Hotrod, GMD, cooter, rog, Frozen and soon this one. Am I missing any?

While all these deaths were terrible, all of them were from people well into their 70's, which is to be expected. The real tragedy was GMDGator, who died at my age - 47. That's a guy that was taken way too soon.

loook at us celebrating this diversity. And its a triple play. With a woman, elderly and UM fan. She was a solid addition to our forum. And her fandom was real being married to a Hurricane FB player. Good thread.

Tough to add much to the high number of really solid posts in this thread. Like everyone else here, I really liked her and am truly saddened at her passing. Amazing that you can be affected by the passing someone you never actually met in person, but this one, like Rog’s and Cooter’s, hits a little hard. Thank you @oxrageous for posting this and especially for posting the obit and picture; I always imagined, because she was such a sport, that she had a great smile. Turns out I was right.
