RIP Big George. Will always remember his walk around the ring at the ‘68 Olympics with the American flag after winning a gold medal—while other Afro Am. olympians demonstated for Black Power during our National Anthem.

I sat behind him and his son (I want to say his name was also George ;) on a plane one time. Lots of people stopped by to say hi and he was very nice to everyone who did. They both had that late 50’s/early 60’s fashion vibe going with matching hats. Very cool dudes.
