Best Wishes Bayou, hope you are doing well and enjoy this FB season. Go Gators!I’m crushed by this news. I haven’t been on GC for a while. A new work contract and some family health issues have overwhelmed my life for most of the past year. Time flies... I told myself this morning “I need to catch up with the boys on GC” and immediately thought “I wonder how ol Rog is doing”, and laughed at all the hilarious stuff he’s said over the years. Rog was a treasure and a huge loss. I’m gonna miss him. So sad…
I believe he saw it and is celebrating with us.Sure wish he was around to see the game tonight. He would have enjoyed it.
Saw? Hell, I think he may have had something to do with that last stop. I think him and cooter were actually ON the field at the end there.I hope Rog enjoyed

Very well said Gator J. His writing caught my attention the same as it did you. Rog was one of the main reasons I joined this group. When it's my time to pass, my remains well be scattered the same.I’m not a crier. And when I saw this at the top of the threads I thought for sure it was a joke from Rog himself. And 5 second into reading this this morning I found myself tearing up.
He was so damn smart. When he first began posting, I found his posts difficult to understand. And very strange in structure. I’d even say pentameter in form. But as he posted more and more I began to really see his brilliance. You couldn’t just quickly skim what he wrote. You actually had to READ what he wrote. Otherwise you would miss the point he was making.
I remember several years back he had some sort of operation. I think maybe a cardiac procedure? And he was gone from the board for a few weeks and we were all worried that he didn’t make it. There was a huge sense of relief when he began posting again. Although it wasn’t initially in his normal witty banter. It took him several months to get back up to full throttle witty posting again.
The thing that impacted me the most from your post was the love you have for him. I could feel it in every sentence. And although he may have struggled in the love department as you stated, he for sure did not lack in love from people like you around him.
To put his impact in perspective a bit:
My wife does not read this board. I share a post every now and then. And she is familiar with the writings of a few posters. (Cooter being one). She got her degree in Literature and when I relayed this to her this morning, She said “is that the guy whose posts read like poetry?”
AmenHere I am, late to the funeral, as usual.
Anyway, Rog was a master of his craft. I emulate him daily with my wife and kids, but I don't have half the ability he had. He found a way to make a pun out of any word, sentence, or situation. His brilliance with that is unmatched. He'll be missed.
