I guess Bama was better off keeping Anthony Grant. Seems like Avery Johnson didn't fare any better while at Bama.
They were definitely a better team with Johnson, but Bama is never a school that's going to have any kind of real basketball success. They should know that and accept it.

Iowa State coach Steve Prohm is a U A L alum and reportedly a top candidate for that job.

According to Wikipedia:

He [Prohm] started college at Oglethorpe University in Atlanta where he played NCAA Division III basketball. Prohm only made it] halfway through his first season as a player when he left the team to follow his passion for coaching. He transferred to the University of Alabama where he worked as a student assistant coach and student manager for the Crimson Tide men's basketball team for five years. He graduated from Alabama in 1997 with a degree in education.

Iowa st is a better job.
Agreed. But Bama may pay up for him. Never been to Tuscaloosa, but Ames is a decent place if you don't mind living in the Midwest.

However will Bama Applebee's name a burger for him?

I wonder if Wade will return to LSU or not. Also how many of their players leave and go pro if there is a coaching change and if any sanctions are levied against LSU so that LSU slips back into obscurity like Vandy.

Saw a local DC story saying John Thompson III (former Georgetown & Princeton head coach) is in the running for Vandy. Unimpressive....he got canned quickly at G-town.

Lots of good jobs open in SEC from the standpoint of willingness to pay good money. If Bama hires the guy from ISU, that would be a good hire. If A&M can land the Buzzer, that would be an excellent hire. I don;t like to use the words 'home run", but the Buzzer has won consistently at Marquette and at Va. Tech. He is a very legitimate coach.

Vandy should just shut the program down.
The Big East once tossed Temple out for failing to compete.

The SEC needs to consider giving Vandy the talk soon. Invest in your programs or head back to the Southern Conference.

UF should get the talk next.

Frank Martin's name is being tossed around w/ the UNLV opening. Is that a job worth leaving SC for? Would it pay as well? Although Martin is denying the rumors....
