Funning thing that thing called perspective. We're likely to end up 7-4, but it's how you arrive that matters most. If we win most of those games early and lose those games that we did, the way we did, toward the end of the schedule, Muschamp is likely gone. But we've caught fire toward the end. Barring a collapse against either South Carolina or Eastern Kentucky, I'm certain Muschamp is back for a fifth season.
Dream killer.

The only way it makes sense and not tell anybody that Champ has been fired, is because want to name the firing and the new hire days apart. After his last two mistakes, I'm sure he is highly sensitive to getting other's input.

Their would be too much recruiting upside to not make it public. And in the twitter, facebook, 24/7 new cycle how would this stay hidden for so long, not even a nationally marketed rumor. In this day in age, either UF has the most private and locked down organization in modern era sports, or the staff hasn't been notified. There are just too many leaks in an organization like Florida for this not to go public if it has been known for a month now.

It wouldn't surprise me with a SC win if Foley came out prior to the FSU game to say Muschamp was returning to try and clear things up for recruiting if he has made that decision.

Lets say he has found a top coach that is interested, that the Gator Nation can all rally behind. You are saying that he is going to say never mind to all that to risk another season with Muschamp.

Lets say he is 90% certain Stoops is ready to go. That would be a huge predicament for Foley even with his Muschamp love fest. If that was the actual case he would probably fire him with another loss even if its to FSU.

And I honestly think that's what's going to happen. I think they've reached out to Stoops and he's shown interest. The rumor is that a "slam dunk" hire has been "receptive". I think it's Stoops, and I think that's the route that UF is going to be taking, regardless of the finish.

If Stoops wants the job that is definitely a case where these sources may be proven correct. I hope that is true.

This makes a lot of sense, but Ox has provided a few leaks.

These last three games are obviously huge. If we win two of the three, what's to say Foley doesn't conclude the program can do just as much with a $3 million man as a $6 million man? That's not intended as a personal endorsement of the current coach as much as it is my belief of what will happen.

I thought about this as well. What is the upside in not making it public? Sure, it seems like it would be nice to have a new coach shortly after the firing was announced, but I think they would have a hard time keeping the fact that they were interviewing/hiring quiet, so would there really be a point?

Separately, I don't understand why Muschamp would agree to some type of a smaller buyout. What would be his incentive to take less money?

Foley likes champ alot and has alot of respect for him. I think this is why he hasnt publicly fired him mid season. It looks better for both sides....

if we have an average season under Stoops next year very few, if any people will btch, and I think we will go back to sold out games. If we have another average season under Champ, well you know what will happen.

You're in some kind of dream world if you don't think this fanbase would still be bitching their collective asses off if we had an average season under Stoops or anyone else next season. For Christ's sake, people bitched nonstop during the 06, 08, & 09 seasons.

Anybody who thinks Stoops is coming to UF is in a dream land. Not happening.

4-8 is not average. I think after the Muschamp experiment I think people will be a bit chastened and will give the new coach a few years.
