South Carolina’s new football facility includes recording studio

South Carolina is putting the finishing touches on its new $50 million football headquarters, and gave the public a virtual tour on Sunday night.

A short video posted via Twitter shows several Gamecocks players touring the 110,000-square foot Long Family Football Operations Center, which sits across the street from Williams-Brice Stadium. Included in the building are a 33,000-square foot weight room, locker rooms and training facilities, as well as a barbershop, game room and a recording studio.

“There’s no reason to leave, everything is here,” one player notes on the video.

South Carolina’s lack of an upgraded football facility was considered a major drawback in recruiting, but that appears to be rectified now. The question remains whether or not the Gamecocks can compete for the SEC East title with Georgia and Florida.

Funny that many schools are on their second or even third new building or majo reno while we sit still, thinking about maybe upgrading baseball and softball first.

The Admin really needs to look at the football team as another academic department. They are preparing kids for the NFL and they should invest in all the tools necessary to make that department the best in the country. If they did that ... they would make lots of $ that could help all the other departments as long as the maintain/sustain.

Just start with the ****ty 6 foot ceiling high locker room having the 21 and under countdown clock behind Mullen in every video and section-8 dorms in the next year and Ill be happy!

Tearing down the baseball stadium and giving that land to the football program is the right call.

Building a new, awesome baseball stadium for our great baseball team is also the right call.

The problem is in the sequencing and the delays created, which are screwing us. Also, what's the plan for upgrading our Section 8 athlete housing? Still nothing? With the new land freed up by demolishing the baseball stadium, it seems we have some new land for building a football dorm. Why isn't that on the plan?

I guarantee if we moved baseball to Santa Fe or UNF for a year to complete both, nobody would care.....we just tend to make slow and horrible decisions
