Sports Cards exploded during the lockdowns

I hadn't seen this until recently. I collected cards in the late 70's/early 80's, and still have them at my mom's house. Apparently it's cooled off since early 2021, but some of these cards were going through the roof.

People are really paying $1500-$2000 for these Spectra Panini hobby boxes. 4 pack of cards, 4 cards per pack. This is serious money. It's like high stakes gambling at the blackjack table. Instead of playing $1500 per hand, you pay $1500 per box trying to hit the jackpot.

A fools game. I collected back in the day and realized what a losers errand it was. The only thing I collect now is money or assets that produce more money without relying on the greater fool theory. The only exception is I have a small amount of gold and a small amount of bitcoin which you could argue relies on the greater fool theory.....which is why I have a small amount of money tied up in each.
