I ain't ****** about dislikes, I like them and work hard for them from twatwaffles like GatorJ, Itraz and the other boob I can't remember who threw me some shade. And I ain't kinda new around here ... I have been here ... before gatorchatter ... threw an orange that hit that doosh Schnellenberger in the head as they came out the field in the swamp back in the Swamp in 78, then promptly got escorted out by the police who laughed and gave me high fives once he got me to the gate and told me to go back in and have fun.

Our LOS play has sucked so hard for the last 8 years and a lot of bafoons continued to complain about QB play as if that was the issue. It gets old how fixated some are on the QB play and continue to put the cart before the horse.

I fear that some of the "bafoons" may get another lesson in the importance of line play this year.
it isn't that I (personally) don't agree that line play is important. of course it's critical. it's that I don't think our line play was very good last year, despite those guys being upperclassmen.

I think guys that have been through the Savage workout program for 2 years and 2 years of a real offensive line coach will be better than guys who only had six months of it, regardless of their class standing.

He should; he is the better QB.
I thought he was easily the better quarterback. The team did too apparently. That was when Chimp irreparably lost the lockerrrom, at least the offense. But I didn't think Brissett was an NFL quarterback either.

Of course Eric Kresser spent some time in the NFL too. Bengals also ironically. You never know.

As for Franks there is a long time between now and NFL draft, but if he has another year slightly better than what he had last year without losing his job, he will be in good shape. he will be the biggest arm at the NFL combine and he's not a slow guy either. Many of those NFL teams don't look anything else.

If you made me bet I would say he's going to be replaced by EJ. However, I said that last year too and was obviously wrong.

My statement was that Driskel has started more NFL games than Franks ever will. I doubt that Franks will ever start a single NFL game. Do you think he will? I think that Driskel actually liked to run and was a natural for Mullens' offense. I believe that, had he been given a year to learn this offense, he would have been quite competent at running it. I think the main differences between the two has arisen from (1) coaching, (2) the offensive lines they worked behind, and (3) the style of offense they played in. You seem to honestly feel that this "way off base". I would be interested in where and how far you think this view is off base.
P. S. It may be that I enjoy, just a little, trigerring Donk's ARDS.
It would not surprise me at all if someone gave Franks a chance. If he has another year like last year or better, someone will draft him. As long as he doesn't just implode or lose the starting job.

Obviously, just calling for an opinion, but do you and/or everyone else on this debate think FF has reached his ceiling? From what I remember, he had very little good QB coaching before the arrival of CDM. The coaching now is clearly showing results. While I can't imagine he'll improve by as much as a margin as he did from 2017 to 2018, I don't think it will take much more improvement to make him attractive to NFL teams. I agree with Swonk that they are going to love his arm strength, confidence, and athleticism. Should he show improvement at reading a defense and at having some more touch and consistency on deep throws (and probably show more maturity), he will be very draft-able; something I never would have thought this time last year.

Our line play was way better than it has been for years. Not great, but very good. We rushed the ball effectively and FF had more time in the pocket than he has ever been allowed. We didn't get a hurt QB either ... which I can't remember when we got through a season without a hurt QB.

I have no real clue about what our OL is going to look like. I too think year two of actual strength training is going to help immensely, but knowing what you are doing before the snap and knowing what the guys to your left and right are going to do before the snap cannot be under valued.

"At one point I looked out there with the twos and there was a redshirt freshman and, basically, four high schoolers out there."

That says a lot about the garbage that Butters left.

We had some people on here talkin about how butters rebuilt the roster and found all those diamonds in the rough.

I didn’t see anyone mention this. Thomas Goldkamp said the reason Stiner is ahead of Stewart is something off the field.

The other problem w/ our OL depth is Banks is out right now (and may be permanently) and Telfort got kicked out for the credit card thing. Those two would be huge right now, as far as depth....and possibly two starters - hell, I'm certain at least one of those two would be starting.

Goldkamp also said, so far, Jean Delance has been our best o-lineman. He’s also our highest ranked recruiting wise. Coincidence?
