That kittenger dude was a bad ass. I believe he had a problem with his glove, and his hand almost exploded. I met Felix once, awesome dude of course.
My highest jump was 20,000 ft. The planes are not pressurized, so you had to have an oxygen mask on the way up once you pass 14,000 ft. It was a pricey jump. Freefall was about 2 minutes until we deployed our parachutes at 3000 feet.

Kittinger is/was a customer of mine (come to think of it they didn't come in this year.) Once a year he and his wife come in to have their Christmas cards done. I think his wife is about 20 years younger than him but that still makes her about 70 LOL. Honor to meet him though.
