TOS journalists are saying that they’ve been told that Billy Napier will be staying. Other insiders on the board are saying that they’ve been told there may even be a small extension for him and Stricklin.

A statement will be coming out soon (what that means, I don’t know) to stop the rumors and save the class somewhat.

If the administration still doesn’t understand that it has more to do with NIL and bringing in a coach who knows how to run the team on game day, then I think we are doomed.

Burn it down. Scream "Fire Napier" from the stands.

This is all coming from the same old people who claim that the coaches never going to get fired even on the day that they get fired.

HOW can you give an extension?! That would be completely asinine and cost us even more money when we want to get out next year.

I would classify this as a heavy rumor right now. The only reason I made a thread on it is because it came from the journalists.

they don't have a clue what they're talking about. These next 4 games are his do or die. 0-4 or 1-3 pretty much dooms him and that's from the UAA this week. If we lose, it's one thing. Lose real bad to end the season and he's on life support. If he runs the table or goes 3-1, absolutely no doubt Stricklin will fight for him and scream progress. Beyond that, we don't know anything because the singular person making the ultimate decision has been silent.

And an addition to this is 2 Bulls that contributed to the buyout pool are demanding their money back due to "insufficient action towards termination".

The ONLY way I see this is if the buyout gets severely reduced and he gets a Frost deal where he loses a significant portion of his salary if certain thresholds aren't met.

If an extension without any lowering of money happens, I will cease $ towards all things UF related like FV. Hate to say it, but got to vote with that wallet sometimes.

@soflagator dont let this sway you from continuing to sort through the G5 trash for that gem who knows how to lose the right way...just in case the TOS journalists are wrong. Wouldn't want your hours of work dedicated to that important task to go unwasted just incase.

This rumor has as much legs as The Cackler winning Iowa.

that's what we were all told Tuesday late after the 2 Bulls requested return of Funds. They're getting their funds returned "by end of week", was the last me or others have heard. Fuchs knows the direction / path he's taking. Beyond that, nobody does. There's no way to save the season and definitely no way to save the recruiting class so if they did decide to retain Billy, then that's a hammering statement of the direction and non-importance of the program currently in the eyes of the admin.

Journalist on another site is responding to this rumor. They are saying that they’re hearing something similar. That he is expected to be back in 2025 unless he pretty much loses all the rest of his games. Depending how bad the rest of the season is, he could be terminated. But as of right now, he is expected to be back.

being back and having a contract extension would be very different things though.
