In high school in the late '80s, me and some buddies would drive downtown to Hawks and Atlanta Knights games at the Omni and it was safe. Same at GA Tech. We were high school kids down there and no problems at all. Gwinnett, where we grew up was super safe. Post Olympics, around '98, ATL and Buckhead started going downhill. Lenox Square Mall was the hub of it deteriorating. I lived in Alpharetta after college and then upon my return from Cali in late '99 and it was nice and safe. Then the traffic came north and influx of Yankees moved into the 'burbs. My parents moved up to North GA mountains and I left ATL in '05 for Palm Beach. Still go back up every 2 weeks to Midtown for meetings, but it's sketchy some days, especially with these kids seeing all the "smash and grab" videos on social media and wanting to be thugs, so I'm careful to stay away from the stores on Peachtree or even at Phipps Plaza. How has Town Center Mall turned out near you? Cherokee is great. Way out. I still have property in Ball Ground at Hawks Ridge, but never had time to build. Maybe one day I'll return, but traffic is awful everywhere up there.
Not much of a go to the mall guy anymore, but since we are in SE Cherokee - like 400 yds outside Roswell - it’s easier go to Northpoint in Alpharetta. Cobb traffic is much worse than N Fulton for whatever reason - even on weekends.

Ball Ground is pretty, but definitely different than my side of Cherokee. It would probably be a great spot to build a house. It’ll be a long time before that part of Cherokee is too crowded.

Speaking of going to Midtown, a very good friend is an atty (UF law of course!) and his office is at 10th and Peachtree. We used to meet regularly for lunch and usually just walk somewhere close to his office; not so much anymore.

are you trying to imply you don't like the Braves doing the chop due to FSU doing it? Because that would be pretty whack because the Braves and us fans were doing the chop as far back as the '70s when I was a little kid. Sitting out in left field next to Chief Noc-a homa's teepee we were doing the chop. Way before the semenoles started it.
Perception becomes reality :dunno:

georgia sports, and any 'gator' that celebrates or enjoys them should be buried 6 feet under.

the official braves social media account literally trolls florida fans over losses to the dwags. some of yall like scotty and bait are suffering from the most severe and frightening case of stockholm syndrome in human history.
Blast me for agreeing if ya want Durty, but…fuch any and all Georgia teams.

Interestingly, my dashboard shows you have deleted 22 posts in the last 90 minutes, all of them between 2019 and 2021.

..........to no one's surprise I'm quite sure.

I have lived in the ATL area twice in my life:

I’ve never lived in Atlanta but I have enjoyed my visits, including 2 SECCG wins.

The worst visit involved stopping at the Varsity for dinner on our way to Tennessee. I had a great chili steak burger, fries and a frozen orange. The food was great going down but it didn’t want to stay long. It was 2.5 hours from there to Sewanee, TN. I barely made it.

Supreme effort. But I did make it.

Truth be told, only college students with strong constitutions and damn fools eat at the Varsity. Great going in, not so much coming out.

Had a buddy that lived in Kennesaw and got stuck in traffic after eating there. He almost made it but lost it going into the house and said he had “Varsity” running down his leg.

It really is. Next to the Coca Cola Museum.

The design of the place is amazing.

It’s the only facility east of the Mississippi that holds whale sharks. The manta rays are incredible.

I’ll give them that. It’s a well laid out place and makes for a very succinct visit without having to rush or skip something.

Being a Braves fan, that’s the least of your concern when it comes to questionable actions? I get that many Gators also love the Braves, but if ever elected president, my first order of business would be anyone caught doing that chop being immediately arrested. Like to chant? Do it in cell block C of federal prison.
Years ago a buddy showed me a newspaper clipping where someone asked a real Indian chief if the tomahawk chop means anything to real Indians. Chief said “Yes , it does. It means ‘Look at me, I am stupid.’”
