Not gonna lie, his swing looks much smoother. And yes, I realize this is only soft toss.

This is the make or break year for him. If he ever wants to play in the big leagues he must play in AA this year and have decent numbers.

The Mets don’t own their AA team, but do own the High A club, which mean they get all of the marketing rights, ticket sales, apparel sales, etc. We will see...

His problem has never been his swing form. It’s always been pretty sweet. It’s his bat speed. It’s too slow.

What is he, 30?

Gotta extrapolate Tim's physiological age. I mean, he's a rare specimen that's been so dedicated to physical fitness for so many years ... have we seen such a person before? I bet his solving this resides in brain-eye reflex to the pitched ball. If that can be "trained-in" Tim will thrive.

His swing wasn’t sweet, it was stiff and he muscled everything. Being loose (like he is in the video) will increase bat speed.

Have you been to his games? Nice and smooth swing. But no bat speed twitch at all. Hopefully he finds that.

Nope sure haven’t, but I’ll be sure to see him when he comes to play the Braves in Orlando :)

Here’s a scouting report from Baseball America (reputable source). His swing is much, much improved the limited amount we see in the video above.

One of the quotes from that article:

... limited pitch recognition is his issue. That is going to probably be his demise, just because of him being out of baseball for so long.

That may be the issue with his bat swing. When I watched him, he had powerful, looping, full body swings - instead of compact, quick twitch swings. Maybe he's not recognizing the pitches fast enough to react to them.

Tebow is a I-A level Adam Dunn with speed. Nothing wrong with that. It is better 99.999999% of athletes can say.

It is better than Michael Jordan could say.

Yup. It’s hard enough for people who’ve been playing year round for 15+ years. He’ll get pitch recognition down, and from the video clip you can tell he’s shortened his swing a good bit which will help him recover if/ when he gets fooled by a pitch
