I don't care if she shoved/punched him first or whatever if you break a female's jaw you need to be off the team period. This wasn't some minor injury.



"LUBBOCK, Texas (AP) -- Texas Tech has reinstated a highly regarded defensive back from Miami who last month broke the jaw of a Lady Raiders basketball player. Tech athletics spokesman Blayne Beal said Wednesday that Nigel Bethel II will return to the team, but will sit out the first three games of his first season.
Berthel punched Amber Battle her during a June 28 pickup basketball game at the campus recreation center and was dismissed from the football program the next day. However, Lubbock County grand jurors declined to indict Bethel on an aggravated assault charge Tuesday.
Coach Kliff Kingsbury said as more information on the incident came to light, the decision to dismiss Bethel was revisited.
Battle, who has acknowledged shoving Bethel first, will sit out games in November."

Even if a woman punches you first, how hard is it to subdue her without jacking her face up? I will say, if a woman hit me in the junk with malice intent, I would more than likely wallop her, but that's only because those are my family jewels.

I broke my jaw 2 years ago. Required 2 surgeries and 8 weeks of drinking my food through a straw. I don't know how bad the girl's break was but even if it's just a hairline fracture, the recovery is still rough. Bethel shouldn't be allowed back on campus, let alone the football team.
