BTW - I heard a speech from Sessions today where he was being very complimentary to Trump and his agenda. You can see where this is going.

 

Except last night, Sessions says he still fully embraces the Trump agenda and pointed out that he hasn't been on TV trashing Trump or trying to sell a "tell all" book and hopes that Trump will recognize that. So only the press is trying to make this a battle. He's looking to be Ted Cruz or Rand Paul

I don't particularly like Sessions and hope someone else wins the nomination. That said he is ultra conservative and I will vote for the republican. BTW, I wouldn't disgrace General Forrest that way.

I don’t think Ava was trying to be “civil” when he used that name for Jeff Sessions. Unless you mean “civil” as in the Civil War.

Forrest was also one of the finest military minds this nation has produced (Lee is overrated, and I’ll stand by that). He also quit the Klan he founded because it became something ugly and violent and not what he envisioned.

Oh, and like every Klan member, he was a Democrat. Sessions isn’t a Klansman. That was Robert Byrd, Hillary’s mentor (lest you think it’s all ancient history).

Sessions has no more control over the middle name his parents gave him than Barack Obama has over his.

Totally agree about Lee. Jackson doesn't get killed by his own soldier Pickett never crosses that field and little Round top goes another way.

It was Longstreet’s corps that attacked little Round Top. Jackson’s Corps, under Ewell at that point, was at the other end of the battle field (attacking, or rather failing to attack Culp’s Hill). However were you correct (and I am not sure Jackson would have made a difference that day), the attack on the center of the line on the third day, named after Pickett, never happens. In my view, Lee’s mistake at Gettysburg was in attacking a larger force in a very defensible position. The Army of the Potomac in July of ‘63 was a far better fighting force than he had faced the previous two years. Had Lee moved his army between Gettysburg and Washington and forced Meade to attack him, it might have been a very different result.

 

Sessions has this nasty little habit of prosecuting little poor guys for relatively small infractions and sentencing them to the max. I've never seen him go after a crook with lots of money or status, only people who are safe and he can make a big deal of it. H had the chance to show some courage but ducked out. In doing so he showed what his true principles are.
