    I definitely don't hold it against him at msu and am basing my opinion about him as a recruiter 100% on the fact that it was an issue at UF even though we were winning. I was working for UF at the time and it was widely thought that mullen was only working bc meyer was such a stud recruiter.

    It's also not just that he loses to other ranked teams, but he often gets blown out by them. I think most Xs & Os people would say that it's bc his O is just too 1-dimensional. Exactly my issue with butters. He's not innovative at all, which is why he runs so much QB power. It gets you an extra guy without having to scheme, but it also results in being simple and gets you destroyed if you can't win every 1-v1 matchup. I'd probably slightly rather have mullen than schiano. Schiano did bring rutgers to relevance at rutgers, which is problably more impressive than msu, but mullen has done it more consistently and longer. The fact that we're discussing which of those two [email protected] hires is better is a joke. I don't understand why we should EVER be saying 'it could have been worse' when discussing the HC hire at The University of Florida.
