I hope the whole line can keep up that push they had in the 2nd half against LSU. He does seem to be playing the position very good right now. I guess we will find out if it was a one game wonder for our whole O line or if its the real deal against FSU. Sounds like he was dealing with a lot of stuff.

He's really a road grader in the run game but struggles in pass pro.

Love this youngsters attitude. There is something to be said about making the most of an opportunity.

Is that more of an inexperience thing than talent deficit? Just guessing, but run blocking as a center seems a much more basic proposition than pass blocking where you have to worry about stunting de's and blitzing lb's. With more practice reps and game experience let's hope he can pick up the pass blocking aspect in due time.

It was quite noticeable that McCoy brought some juice to the o-line. I think his attitude is as important to our success as his abilities.

He'll only get better in time with pass protection. But he can read the defense and blowing off the LOS is not an issue for him at all. And he's able to do a lot and his job to allow the guards to pull and scrape off the hit the LBs.

Um, this year would be year 1, so he's got 3 years left.

Agree. He won't be our starter for "the next 4 years. Not sure where people get their math.

Lesson of the day:

A redshirt freshman has 3 more years to play after they finish this season. (not 4)

And we'll have him for 3 more years. The NFL isn't drafting a 6'1 center in the first or 2nd round. So we shouldn't have to worry about him leaving early.
