I think everyone in the organization has checked out. Even the people in the mail room. This is the email I received yesterday a.m. "Game Day: Gators vs Miami!"

Until this lawsuit is settled with Rashada, you're out and how much you get paid is undetermined until there is a resolution. And pray to the God's we can keep some of that $26M.

Sweating the fact that the Rashada decision is not guaranteed to save any "for cause" $ at all.

you can fire him today, let him stand on the sidelines for a few weeks, and resolve the litigation and buyout later. We didnt conclude the Butters' buyout for months.

We canned Muschamp and he finished out the season, just like Zook

I thought I read that Napier’s contract gets him half his buyout the day he’s fired.
But instead of firing they could just change his job description to “Permanent Latrine Orderly”

If he is canned now (which he should be) I doubt even Country Bumpkin is dumb enough to stay around and finish with double digit losses in one season.

I believe you're correct, but we could refuse to pay it and say he was fired for cause, then figure it out later. We could also pay him half as the contract says but contest the other half due to the Rashada issues and see what can be negotiated over the next several months.

EDIT: I read somewhere in another thread that the first half of his buyout is due within 30 days. Nonetheless, I believe the options I posted above are still available to us. It might get a little messy in the media and possibly with some lawyers getting involved, but honestly, who gives a fcuk? That might actually help us long term by letting people know we aren't going to continue to tolerate the same old shyyt as it relates to just paying huge sums of money without reservation to crappy coaches when they dramatically underperform.

My guess is it depends on the wording of the announcement. For example, our administration could announce later today (or sometime before the end of the season) that Billy won't be retained after the 2024 season and we're starting a search immediately for his successor. This might obligate Billy to finish out the regular season as a lame duck, soon to be, ex-head coach.

Contracts going forward should say...if you lose past so many, some money from your contact gets funneled back to NIL.

Not to get into a long discussion, but I mentioned something about this much earlier, but say reassigning Karl to the Sanitation Dept. With all due respect, only our Admin would make said announcement and then tell the fired guy to continue in his current position. You do not want a guy who may be looking for a new job 24/7 immediately that he is still obligated to you. Not even the worst agent or dumbest attorney would allow his client to remain in that situation. Guys like Zook and Scrat asked to stay or were afforded that opportunity and they chose to as they were still trying to put something on tape or a resume. As mentioned earlier Karl is not staying to add a double digit loss season onto a resume. It is clear to anyone potentially interested in him in the future that he cannot coach, so he certainly does not need to hang a 1-11 as his most recent accomplishment.

I didn’t say it would be a smart move by admin. I was responding directly to your comment that Billy wouldn’t be dumb enough to stick around-my comment being it may be possible to structure it to where he may not have a choice.

You’ve alluded to making him work out the remainder of the season in a demeaning fashion so I assumed you wanted him to suffer the Indignation of standing on the sidelines as a lane duck for the next 9 games.

so, demote him, or tell him he'll get paid his yearly salary, but do not come on campus.. his contract has what, 2 - 3 years left, so we pay him 12-18M instead of the 26M,, maybe even less depending on the lawsuit

I like the idea above where UF announces he is out after the season and force that cocksucker to endure the humiliation of a 1-11 season. If he screws up or screws off, fire his ass for cause and refuse the buyout money.

A walkon WR got 18 more snaps against A&M than a 5*DL, despite us not having success through the air or stopping their run game.

Everything this guy does is a screw up and screw off.
