The amount of talent around him was vastly better than all but two teams they faced all season Clemson and Auburn in the National Title Year. I believe in his second year he lead the nation in interceptions.

..............I am not a Brady fan but I have to admire his excellence over the years. That said someone pointed out he was tired of the expectations in Boston and the entitlement the fans have. SOS hit the same wall I figure. And the new coach is a QB guy from what I have read and not the stoic curmudgeon he has had for so long...........and finally some real sports news..........

I saw a headline before this announcement that it was down to the Patriots & the Bucs. Why the hell would he leave NE for Tampa? I guess he could retire but that sounds unlikely.

I think it is simple, the Pats are short of talent to be around him and Tampa is a better alternative. I would not do that, but to each his own.
