Well, Trask isn't afraid of sitting on the bench (NFL). ??
He might be sensitive as to how his return will upend EJ's college career.
Another college year has risks of ruin = a lesser success & possible injury.
Still, he should confer with pro scouts, operators of NFL QB prospects trainers.
?? Can he attend combines without an agent, get evaluated, yet still return to UF??

I was just as wrong about a kid being able to sit out and catch up with the speed of the game as four or five hundred top coaches. there will never be another most likely.

we will see when his pro scouting reports come out.

Driscoll was 11- 1 once. that's not emperical evidence of anything.
No. We will see when his pro play occurs.

Apples and oranges. 11-1 was about defense. 43-5 is about reading defenses and making accurate, timely passes. Trask will fall in the draft because (like all great Gator QBs) he doesn't have an elite arm and because he isn't mobile, not because of problems reading defenses. If he comes back, then the next draft will still find him immobile with an ordinary arm and still able to read defenses.

I don't personally know any players so what I might think is not that important. We have seen some players who turned pro miss the year of living the life as a college player. Trask does not seem to be a person who would object to say being second string in the NFL for a few years (or even a career) if that is what happened.

Now it is a very deep QB class this year so that might effect his decision if he is serious about an NFL career.

I hope he looks at the options and chooses the one that best meets his desires.

I do think we will have plenty of skilled players on offense, and depending on what happens perhaps a better defense and running game to win more games.

If Trask senses Mullen doesn't want him to return, does he have the option of entering the portal if he's adamant on playing another year of college?

He should as a grad transfer. Thay being said, I can see Trask chosing to be a backup to Jones next year than transferring. It is just his personality.

I can’t believe you guys are even having this debate. Mullen will be escorted out of town on a three-legged mule before a record-setting passer sits on the bench for an untested redshirt junior.

It’s a combination of hyperbole, trolling and the effects of the 60s-80s drug experimentation.

Trask has had a history with injury. He needs to go get paid, losing Pitts, Toney, and Grimes this year is 1000 times worse than losing Jefferson, Cleveland, and Swain last year. The WR group next season will be weaker.

We all said the same thing last year as well. I probably read 100's of post stating how big of a drop off the passing game would have this year after 3 or 4 (can't remember which) WR's got drafted. If Trask comes back I think he'll be even better, not to mention he'll have a much better running back to go to in Bowman.

I don't think he should come back, I think he should get paid but I'm damn sure not going to be upset if he does return. Jones will most likely transfer and we'll get to see more of AR, I think he's got a much higher ceiling anyways.

I think you’re underestimating Gator fan and Gator administration apathy. This isn’t 2005 anymore.

Gatorchatter may be the last place for rabid Gator fans that actually try and hold millionaire coaches accountable. In short, Gatorchatter is the only thing keeping UF from becoming NC State.

Probably should come back. He can get insurance for injury, which I think is predicated on a preseason draft analysis, not his current one.

he needs as much experience as possible if he expects a successful NFL career.

but my favorite reason, is that it’ll piss Mullen off. Honestly, he should transfer to Bama with their never ending string of 5* skill players.

That makes me burn for an SECCG rematch with Bama, Grantham’s secondary going up against a Trask-led Bama offense.

Actually, I think I’d rather stab myself in the eyeball.

Why wasn't this thread merged with the other 6 Trask threads on this page

I'm not anti-merge by any stretch. The problem I see here though is where do you put it? Is it in the Heisman thread, the QB Comparison thread, the Mullen Sucks thread, now even possibly the Transfer Portal thread? Honestly, some of the takes on this page aren't far off from some of Carib's stuff in the election thread, so you could make an argument there as well.

We are still winning the election and the Heisman. Wait and see.
