Our superintendent just pushed back in-person school to Sept 28 now. Since our kids chose the virtual learning option (first 9 weeks) it doesn’t impact our family for now but I believe kids need the option to go back to school.

My grands were given the option. Parents choose in school. That's probably the best option for them. Not the best for me. I'll see them from a distance, outside, and at a distance that will require binoculars.

Sucks that everyone is missing out on so much time together.
Time will tell with hindsight on who did it best but I have my opinion, which I will keep to myself.

The school will close sooner rather than later. DIL works in a petri dish anyway so WTH. For the few weeks the school is open the kids will remember what it was like to have friends.

Even if they have to close down after an in-person start they have at least made a connection with the teacher. You might as well be asking a 5-8 year old to watch the news instead of have a 45 minute zoom call with a teacher. Little kids don’t have that attention span to do it in home. This is tragic for the little ones.

More tragic for the father who's working remotely at home. He ends up being the teacher. He get's grumpy on 5 hours sleep a night.

Can’t even imagine working and having little kids at home.
At least the Seedlings are self sufficient although they have classes 1-3 M&W and 3-6 T,TH. You can’t get through the year with half the class time.
