Other than grandkids, the only good thing I can think of about getting older is, if you've done it right, you have lots more free time and disposable income.

Introducing my daughters to Santana Abraxis (in the 90's when they were listening to grunge & other garbage)
on the original vinyl purchased in 1971. "Dad, What is this? This is really good!" Ya!!

Daughters are tough, tough, tough. Anytime dad can score some points during their teen years is a win!

Not having to dress up for things I used to.

Good memory. My wife comes from NJ Jew black-tie type family events. My grandfather agreed to put on his sweater vest as dressing up for our wedding. I still laugh at that…and plan to have the same dgaf attitude.

Sleeping a lot less.
I guess I’ll take it as a positive but for now I’m enjoying getting up early.

Three iron clad rules that i was told for "over 40" but didn't start creeping in for me until 55...
  1. Never pass up an opportunity to pee.
  2. Never trust a fart.
  3. Never waste a boner.

Being told you should start charitable foundation because you have done a good job with the assets God entrusted to you. Happened today on our annual financial update with our advisors.

Easily the best part of getting older is the exponential rate at which I stop giving a flying fuchs what anybody else thinks.
What I was going to say. I’ll add that you know you’ve got this mastered when in a group setting, particularly discussing a sensitive topic, and somebody says “(cover), what do you think…? And everybody else says things like:
  • “Lord, here we go!”
  • ”Brace yourself!”
  • ”Oh no, not again!”
To be fair, I try and be totally honest, so I can be a little perplexed when I qualify my response with “Get over yourself!“ or “Screw your feelings!” and it’s not always well-received.
