My brother got kicked out of the house and I got his hand-me down truck. Thankful for the transportation but it had no AC in the FL heat. On the positive side, I could carry a lot of friends home from school in the back of the truck!

Well, I was dying to drive and started looking at vehicles when I was 13 because I knew I'd have to save up my own money in order to get anything.
So, after making my list, and checking it twice, it's clear that I didn't know anything about vehicles (then) and my options were "limited".

Here is the list of vehicles I was dying to get:
- Yamaha Motorcycle (new)
- Mitsubishi 3000GT (used)
- Toyota Celica Supra (used)
- Nissan 300ZX Turbo (used)
- Datsun 280Z (used)
- Nissan Sentra (knowing this was all I could probably afford, I already had the rims and tires picked out and a shop to tint the windows)

This is what I ended up getting (same color even):
25440
I have a coworker that drives one of those. His is blue. My 12 y/o son wants one of the old VW Beetles.

When will this ever be re-released? They’ve been claiming it will be out for the past two years maybe.

In hindsight, I absolutely loved that car. I learned how to do all engine and transmission work and, growing up in St. Augustine, I could bog the rear tires a little bit and that thing would crawl ALL OVER the beaches. A pony keg would fit in the back and its hose could reach all the way to the front.
Keg hose reach. I miss the old way of measuring a cars worth.

This was a spitting image of the car I had in high school (1969 Camaro... even the white interior), although I didn't go to high school in the late 60's :)
And mine was a fairly anemic 3-speed manual 230 cu in engine... but I had fun with it until I had to sell it for UF money.
