What would you consider the best football stadium or basketball arena in college or professional sports?

Lambeau Field by far...I love The Swamp but nothing beats a game day in the frozen tundra

The Swamp...by a mile. I can remember when the artificial turf was on it. SOS pushed for the natural grass and that elevated it. Then when it was added to and mostly enclosed, it became one of if not the toughest places for visiting teams. I hope we get back to capacity crowds again.

Basketball venues? I’d have to say truthfully that the old Greensboro high school gym was my favorite. Cracker box that was always busting at the seams. The Bulldogs won three straight titles in the late ‘60’s / early ‘70’s behind William Moody, who signed with the Gators, but only lasted a year. Small town high school basketball was great in it’s day. These days the whole game has become unwatchable for many of my generation.

Football it has to be the Swamp. I've attended games in Knoxville, Tuscaloosa, Baton Rouge, etc. and the way the Swamp is oriented, with barely any sideline and the steep incline, it's amazing. Closest to the Swamp would be LSU.

The old Orange Bowl was probably something when Larry Csonka was stomping mud holes in opposing defenses, but by the time I got to experience it, it was a sewer. No, really, the whole thing reeked of urine. It was a dump.

Don't like any of the pro stadiums. The current Dolphins' stadium (is it still called Sun Life?) is comfortable with the shade and the current Bucs' stadium is cool with the pirate ship but neither comes close to the atmosphere in a college stadium. Don't like the Jags' stadium. Froze my ass off a couple of times at Florida-Georgia with the wind coming off the river.

Hate watching games in domes. It feels weird. Almost like you're watching TV. I've been to the Fiesta Bowl, the Sugar Bowl, the Peach Bowl and I don't like any of them.

              Alex.

I know posters like the Alabama guy we somehow inherited will have their own version of this statement. But to me, there's nothing better than walking into the Swamp on a gameday. From the sights and sounds, to the smell and visuals, it's always felt like home to me.

I also agree with Alex. Hardrock and Tampa are both really nice(I'd definitely give the nod to Miami). Jacksonville is terrible all the way around. Had some great moments there and love the sun setting over the St Johns in the final moments of a win, but the stadium, infrastructure and surrounding environment are as bad as it gets, imo. And I too hate domes. They certainly have their place...for trade shows and concerts, not football.

Agreed on the domes...living in Indy I’ve gone to a handful of Colts games both old and new stadium and watching football inside is just wrong. Lucas Oil is so big and spaced out if you aren’t in the lower bowl it sucks. Pretty much all pro stadiums now are like that.

That’s why I like Lambeau so much it’s like a college stadium/atmosphere. Seats a lot of people and all metal bleachers (other than new end zone addition) which gives you a great view and right on top of the action.
