You know what two shows occasionally pissed me off?
I Dream of Jeannie and Bewitched...

First - if a genie that you rescue from a bottle HAS to do whatever you ask, and she looks like this:
Jeannie-i-dream-of-jeannie-34402279-351-500.jpg

then this could have been taken to whole new levels (or depths :naughty: )

- kind of the same with Samantha...
bewitched1.jpg

She wants to do the magic and yet Darren (a.k.a. Dumbo, Dagwood, Durwood, etc by Endora his Mom-in-law) forbade any magic in the house. Idiot...

Not Darren....

Darrin.

From Gunsmoke (Marshall Dillon - great series) - Doc, Miss Kitty and Chester:

Funny when you think about the way things were portrayed back then. For all intents and purposes Miss Kitty was a whore. I wonder if she owned one of these....

Did anyone mention Hogan's Heroes? I used to like that one as a kid.

Fast forward to about 10 years ago and I'm teaching a class in Frankfurt to about 30 Germans.
My host gets up and does his introductions in German, I hear my name in there somewhere and I come up to the podium.
At this point I thought I'd begin with a little joke...

"Good morning... hey, I hope you guys speak English because the only German I know I learned on Hogan's Heroes!"

No one was familiar with the show - never even heard of it.
"Really? Funny comedy series about a concentration camp and some idiot Nazi's...No?"

I'm thinking... how does this not get shown in Germany? NO sense of humor.
It was a long three days but at least they 'day-drink' over there so that was nice.
My father in law was in a German POW camp, HE Loved that show. It was a good one. Ever read about the life of the guy that played Hogan? weird

Amos and Andy-Cutting edge for it's time- Kingfish would always say Hooooly mackeral Andy!

Good memory. Sky King was unusual much like Sea Hunt with Lloyd Bridges. When the opening credit of Sky KIng came on the plane banked at the end and the sponsor was then put on the underside of the wings..........A genuine no prize IF you can remember. Bonus, what was the sponsor o ANdy Griffith. When Opie threw the rock in the water the splash turned into that sponsor.

When the shows were on before rerums Sky King was sponsored by Nabisco. When the plane banked the Nabisco logo was on the bottom of the plane. When Opie threw the rock the splash turned into Post for Post cereals. The Beverly Hillbillies was sponsored by Kellogs but there was no cute segue to it.

How many Germans does it take to screw in a light bulb?

One. They are very efficient and not very funny.

I'll bet Victoria Principal ain't so hot these days...

I've seen both V.P. and Linda Gray (Sue Ellen Ewing) in recent made-for-TV movies. Victoria looks like a Botox experiment gone bad. Linda has aged gracefully and still looks good at 75 years of age to this old hound.
