I've always thought that. Nothing personal, but he played against three bad defenses in a row. I hope be does well, but I like our backup situation much better despite the inexperience.

I think he would have done just as well if played against other terrible defenses like Toledo and Miami in game 1 and 2. People, including the coaches and former player commentators on ESPN, were impressed that he at least seemed to know the playbook, knew how to read the defense and blitzers, did not panic on every play, and converted in the redzone. That's understandable after what we've watched before.

The bottom line is he's a two star kid who is mostly a running back. He still plays like a two star kid who is mostly a running back. If your QB is mostly a RB, you don't have an offense.

Me too. But as soon as he was faced with DL's in his face and receivers in tight coverage, he was no better than anyone else. The o-line was turble. It was impossible for any QB to beat a good defense with that unit, and the plan that was in place. I'm just glad Treon or Grier wasn't here last year to take the pounding the freshman did in 2011......and I pray for health among the o-line starters in 2014.

That's why I chose my words carefully and said "not a good quarterback" instead of some of the other things that get spewed about Gator football players who are still currently on the team.

Not sure about Murphy after watching last night. He still had good pocket presence and running ability but couldn't hit the side of a barn and the few times he did the BC receivers dropped the ball usually. That is probably a 3 win team this season even in the ACC.
