Ok..... no cheesy poll just tell us who ya got.

Does Koepka slam the door shut again on Thursday? I'm not so sure as his driver will not be as valuable as it was at BB.

Ill go with Adam Scott. He has played very well in all of the majors so far this year, and I think he has his putter figured out.

I think it will be the Brooks and Rory show, with Brooks winning it. Those two are truly at the top of their game right now, and both are playing with a chip on their shoulder. That's something you usually need to win the US Open. But, I do think Adam Scott is an excellent pick. He's playing great this year.

I'd love to see Tiger find some magic again, though. Like Augusta, Pebble has a special place in his heart, and it'd be sweet to see him win another to add fuel to the fire of those who believe he can catch Jack (I'm not one who thinks he can).

Couldn't agree more about Brooks and Rory, unfortunately their biggest weapon (driver) will not be a factor at PB. There are only 4/5 holes where they will hit it.

I get what you're saying, but Brooks is ridiculously accurate with his irons when he's in a major (and smashes them farther than anyone else). And with the way Rory looked last week, it is obvious that he has his irons dialed in. I'm a believer that when Rory's game is on, he literally has no weaknesses. I'm hoping he's finally found his championship form again. He's definitely peaking at the right time! He embarrassed everyone last week.

Oh, and by the way, guess who is leading the tour in GIR%... Tiger. If his putter doesn't let him down, he could easily win.

Brooks’ putter is where he’s gonna rise or fall.

Bethpage Black is his easy button major. Hulk smash. He could win five times in a row there.

Not so with the other majors. He didn’t hit the putts at Augusta or he might’ve won there too.

I think Tiger shows we’ll this week but I honestly think he’s building toward the British Open.

Rory is streaky but he’s gotten hot so it may be his time. Scott has played well but hasn’t closed.

Tiger’s putting and tee shots have been erratic. Irons have been awesome. He wasn’t ready for Bethpage’s length and got eaten alive.

It'd be hard to bet against Koepka and Rory would have to make history (win the Open after winning the week before). But Rory's a personal favorite. We followed him on Saturday at the Players and were treated to some really great golf. Agreed that when he's on, he's on a different plane. Seems to have found his putting stroke (that has been erratic to absent). As @Gulfstream alluded, the better iron player probably takes it. Tee shots shouldn't be a great factor unless too many find the long stuff. Should be a great day watching on Sunday after a Father's Day ribeye!

Driver can bring a few holes to their knees. One for Rory and Koepka. The greens are small. One for a whole lot of people. Pin placement and weather. Who knows who that will favor. Picking a favorite is like spinning a roulette wheel. I'd like to see Rory win another. Doesn't mean a thing. Hot streaks come and they go. That's golf.

Then again I've been waiting for a hot streak all my life. It never came. It just went.

I'm with you, Cover. I think this will be a great tournament, and Sunday might be a round for the ages. There are so many great golfers playing at a really high level right now, but I am kinda rooting for Rory. He slipped over the last couple of years, but he seems determined to make a statement that he's back. However, how cool would it be to see Tiger tap into the magic of his 2000 Pebble Beach US Open win again? If his putter cooperates, it's on.

Some of the Golf Central guys think he's got a good chance since the driver will be out of his bag and he's stunk it up off the tee lately. Kinda like taking the gun away from somebody suicidal I suppose. He's been pretty critical of the PGA and their course set-ups/selections, so I guess there's also a dramatic element surrounding him. Long as he finishes no better than second, I'm good with him :)

Whoever wins, I just hope the tournament plays out like the Masters—lots of great players in contention on Sunday, very exciting final round—and not like the PGA, which I stopped watching after Friday when it was obvious that Koepka was going to win easily.

Seeing four out of six players go in the water at 12 in the last two groups at Augusta is the kind of luck I don’t think anyone can count on here. But the wind at pebble beach could play hell with some of the big hitters. Course is nuts.

No practice round for Woods Tuesday. Heard his range session was not great. I suspect he’s feeling some things in his back. I don’t think his body has allowed him to prepare for PGA and US Open the way he or anyone would need. Don’t think he wins here. I honestly think he’s got his sights set on the British Open where he can play links golf with his irons and he does not want to be derailed by back or burnout issues. He’s playing the long game here so not going in on PGA and US Open as hard as he might. He was fresh for the Masters but it took a lot out of him. Should still be a fascinating tourney for him and the rest of the field.

All true. But Pebble Beach is one of Tiger’s ‘home’ courses, so if there’s a workable strategy for him to compete given those limitations, he will have a chance.

And it’s my second favorite course (behind Augusta National) to watch. Hope to see it in person someday.

Our community sprung up when the Gatorsports message board was shut down in the summer of 2014. We pride ourselves on offering Gator-biased, yet critical discussion among people of all different backgrounds. We are working every day to make sure our community is the best Gator message board you will find.

The management works very hard to make sure the community is running the best software, best designs, and all the other bells and whistles. Care to buy us a non-alcoholic Zima? We'd really appreciate it! Just click the "Donate" tab at the top of the page.
