UAA approves $140.9 million operating budget for upcoming year
GAINESVILLE, Fla. -- The Florida athletics program announced on Monday that it has approved its new operating budget for the upcoming 2019-20 athletics season. Once again Florida is expected to have one of the biggest operating budgets of any collegiate athletics program in the country.
The operating budget passed by the University Athletics Association Board of Directors on Monday rose 3.9% year-over-year, reaching a total of $140.9 million for the 2019-20 fiscal year.
However, the rate of increase in the operating budget is the lowest it has been in at least the past four years, according to previous operating budget proposal documents listed on Florida's team website. The Gators had a 5.9% year-over-year increase in the operating budget in 2018-19, a 7.0% increase in 2017-18 and a 5.6% increase in 2016-17.
