Wellll now, UCF has plenty of people talking positively about UCF.
UCF has created a highly notable W-L record of late.
Their prior HC generated lots of interest from major programs wanting to hire Frost.
3 different HCs UCF has presented to fans & spectators similar high-octane offense, explosive fun.
They did beat Auburn ... kinda like Utah beat Bama, with defense-confusing offensive plays.
People talking that we've got nothing to gain by playing them are implying that they could beat us.??
I would go into that game worrying. When a team is flying high, sometimes they continue to fly high.
Being untested does not indicate lack of abilities.
I'd love to play them and the Gators trounce them - to give CFB a real standard.
If UCF is puny, then let's make 'em one of our cupcakes in the future - can't hurt with state recruiting.??
Yes, their NC claims are rificklelous, as well as wimpussy.

So has their path become easier to claim another national title?

Doubtful. They claimed it last year because:

1. Colley ranked them #1, which is as legit as a handful of Bama’s “Got 32?” or whatever BS.
Colley's Bias Free College Football Rankings

2. They were the only undefeated team in the FBS.

3. They beat Auburn, which had beaten Bama and UGA.

They are unlikely to have any of that this year, even if they beat a 9-3 LSU team. Three of the 4 playoff teams are undefeated.

FWIW 2017 UCF was more impressive than the 1984 BYU team that got a MNC because they “beat everyone on their schedule” - the WAC plus 3-8 Pitt and 6-6 Michigan.

No one outside UFC alumni and the 407 acknowledge it anyway.

Interesting question:

Obviously, for UCF to gain more respect, they need to join a P5 conference. Which means they need to earn it with attendance and TV market.

In 2018 their average attendance jumped to more than 44k, roughly 8k more than last year. That makes them roughly equal to the middle ACC, PAC 12 & Big 12 programs. Someone should pull them in.

There only hope is the big 12 and they keep saying no. SEC and ACC don’t want them because they already have those markets. If the SEC expands it will be to NC, VA or OK. Memphis and Houston have better chances than they do.
