UF DB Coach Warren hired away by UGA

The optics are horrible. Not only did we put baseball in front of football, but we've now pushed the baseball construction start back a year while adding 30% to the price tag. You'd almost think we had a baseball guy toiling in the AD office, and of course we do.

Once upon a time many years ago, we employed football people to run the athletics department. No more. It shows.

I regret not being able to give this a thousand likes.

It is the classic "we get what we want or you don't get what you want" that politicians or bureaucrats alway pull. The same thing as shutting down to of the fire stations in rich neighborhoods vs getting rid of all the useless corruptocrats (usually relatives of the commisioners) hiding in the county's bureaus of whatever and departmenst of inspection/regulation.

98% that care about UF Baseball, only care when we make it to the College World Series. And yet, virtually everyone kept watching the putrid s h i t that Menstralchamp and McElfag put on the field. Maybe the dumbasses misread that as football will always have support of the fans. I don't know, but they keep making excuses for the attendance rather than just realize that no one wants to spend good money to watch absolute garbage

How hard is that? It would be like Jeep neglecting the Wrangler line in order to put most of the money into their backpack and duffel bag line.

It's not the first time, it probably won't be the last. Think of how the football program must have felt when the athletic department appropriated $15.6m ($47.4m in today's dollars) to build a vast new indoor home for basketball, swimming, track, gymnastics and volleyball in the late '70s.

Florida Field was already a dump and in need of expansion. That had to wait until Pell beat the drums a few years later. And if you think the revenue wheel is unbalanced now, it was much more so back then. Those other sports were complete after thoughts.

You wonder how Mullen is reacting to all of it. Is he so cozy with Stricklin from years of working together that he's unwilling to bend his ear?

The squeaky wheel tends to get the grease. How squeaky is Mullen?
